How to Use the Rice Purity Test
The Rice Purity Test is simple to take. It takes about five to ten minutes to complete all 100 questions. This guide will walk you through every step, from starting the test to understanding your final score. We have designed the website to be easy to use on any device, whether you are on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Getting Started
When you arrive on the homepage, you will see a large button that says "Start the Rice Purity Test." Click that button to begin. The test will open immediately, and you will see the first question along with two answer choices: "Yes, I have" and "No, I have not."
1 Read each question carefully
Take your time with each question. The test covers a wide range of life experiences, from simple things like kissing someone to more serious topics. Answer based on your genuine experiences. There is no right or wrong answer.
2 Click Yes or No
Click "Yes, I have" if you have done that activity. Click "No, I have not" if you have never done it. When you click a button, it will blink briefly to confirm your answer. Then the test will automatically advance to the next question after a short pause.
3 Navigate between questions
If you want to go back to change a previous answer, use the "Previous" button at the bottom of the test box. You can also use the "Next" button to move forward manually. The question counter at the top shows you which question you are on, from 1 to 100.
4 Complete all 100 questions
You must answer all 100 questions to get your final score. If you skip a question, it will be counted as "No, I have not" automatically when you finish the test. However, we recommend answering every question honestly for the most accurate score.
5 View your score and result
After you answer the final question, the test will calculate your score instantly. Your score is 100 minus the number of Yes answers. A higher score means fewer experiences, while a lower score means more experiences. You will also see a detailed explanation of what your score means, tailored to your specific range.
Understanding Your Score
Your Rice Purity Score ranges from 0 to 100. Each Yes answer lowers your score by one point. For example, if you answered Yes to 30 questions, your final score will be 70. The score is just a number. It does not define who you are as a person. Some people score very high, others score very low, and most people fall somewhere in the middle. All scores are equally valid.
- Scores 96 to 100 mean you have lived a very sheltered life. You have said No to nearly everything.
- Scores 90 to 95 indicate high purity. You have had very few life experiences.
- Scores 80 to 89 show mostly pure tendencies. You have explored a little but remain cautious.
- Scores 70 to 79 represent moderate experience. This is common for college students.
- Scores 60 to 69 indicate a balanced life with many typical young adult experiences.
- Scores 50 to 59 show above average life experience. You have said Yes to about half the questions.
- Scores 40 to 49 mean you are quite experienced and open to new situations.
- Scores 30 to 39 indicate a very adventurous spirit with diverse experiences.
- Scores 20 to 29 show an extremely eventful and unconventional life.
- Scores 10 to 19 mean you have lived a rare and intense life.
- Scores 0 to 9 are exceptionally rare. You have said Yes to almost all 100 questions.
Important Reminder
The Rice Purity Test is for entertainment and self reflection only. It is not a competition. Do not compare your score to others in a negative way. Everyone has a different life journey, and that is what makes each person unique. Also, please remember that this test is NOT a bucket list. Do not try to complete all the items. Many of them are dangerous, illegal, or harmful.
Using the Website Features
This website includes several features to make your experience better. Here is how to use them.
Dark and Light Mode
At the very top of every page, you will find a theme switcher. Click it to toggle between light mode and dark mode. Your preference will be saved automatically, so the website will remember your choice when you come back.
Navigation Buttons
Below the main title, you will see three buttons: How to Use, What's a Good Score, and Comments and Feedback. These buttons take you to helpful pages with more information about the test. The How to Use page explains the test process. The What's a Good Score page explains score meanings in detail. The Comments and Feedback page lets you send us a message through our contact form.
Start Over Button
While taking the test, you can click the "Start Over" button at any time. This will reset all your answers and bring you back to the first question. This is useful if you want to retake the test from the beginning.
Previous and Next Buttons
These buttons let you move between questions at your own pace. The Previous button is disabled on the first question, and the Next button becomes a "See Results" button on the final question.
Privacy and Anonymity
Your privacy is completely protected on this website. We do not collect, store, or share any of your answers. Your score is calculated locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. When you close the page, all your answers disappear forever. You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or log in to take the test. It is completely anonymous.
The only time we receive any information from you is if you choose to fill out the contact form on our Comments and Feedback page. That information is sent directly to Formspree and forwarded to our email. Even then, we never store your information on our own servers.
Troubleshooting Tips
If the test is not working properly, try these steps. Refresh the page and start again. Clear your browser cache if the test gets stuck. Make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser, as the test requires JavaScript to run. If you are using an ad blocker, try disabling it temporarily as some ad blockers can interfere with the test.
